Hi guys, please bear with me as I have only just purchased my 1st ever PC game "im normally PS3"

I have as in the description a " ASUS G74S, Windows 7 Professional - 64bit "

My n00b problem:

Having just installed the game "gta iv discs 1&2", I try to start the game . BUT when it asks me to LOG into Rockstar Social club it keeps telling me
" that my log in failed and i need to check my network connection" BUT when i go to rockstar website I can login no problems.

Can someone please have a go and help out the newbie retard PLEASE super excited to start playing with mods.

Okay I was able to dload both, but what do i need to do with the now??? "even dloading them hasnt helped??"

sorry, like i said please be paitient with me, I dloaded the two files, what should I do next with them??

When installing the two discs i switched the folder from program files86 to just program files and i save the two dloads into the rockstar folder. please let me know what i should do next. oh i also changed combatibility mode to windows 7? is this right??

Hey guys, so I dloaded and installed both of the links but now the disc comes up when launched and doesnt do anything after that.. is this a compatibility issue?? i switched it to windows 7 as i have win 7 professional.

i have this sparkley feeling im alost there lol... come on boys help a girl out plz lol.

GTAIV patch is an archive. You need to extract all files from the archive and run the title update.
GFWL should be an exe file which you need to run and have it download and install the needed files.

Hi boys, sorry ive been a busy girl BUT:

I am still having issues opening the game.

I launch it from the GTA Launch and a black screen opens and then disappears then nothing.

I have installed both suggested patches and still nothing.

PLEASE HELP

Are you quite sure you installed the game patch? Because if the game still throws the black console window, you haven't updated it.

Download the patch http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Grand...-IV-Patch.shtml
Extract the archive to some folder on your desktop, something like "patch"
You can extract archives with programs such as 7-zip or WinRAR
Go to the "patch" folder, you should have three files in there, you're supposed to start "TitleUpdate.msi"
A guided wizard installation guide will lead you through the process of patch installation, basically you just need to confirm along the way

Well, girl, could you describe the situation in just a tad more detail, "no luck" is not very descriptive

Also, I'd like you to go into the game installation directory, typically

CODE

c:\program files\rockstar games\grand theft auto iv

find GTAIV.exe there, right click on it, choose Properties, go to details tab and check the file version there.

Is GFWL installed properly? Try using xliveless to start up the game. You can ignore the part about savegames, just install the xlive.dll as it has been described in that topic.
