Whilst The Wrestler is a great movie that I enjoyed thoroughly it can't beat (in my eyes) Schindlers List which really struck a cord with me. The acting by all the cast is superb and Spielberg's direction is beautiful. The fact that such a disgusting part of humanities history is handled so well is what secures it for me. There are some tough scenes but it never goes overboard to get the message across, it balances it perfectly presenting the story that it can have an impact without resulting to emotional blackmail.

Schindlers List.

The Wrestler is a quality film by all standards.
unfortunately it is also horrifically cliched.

I don't feel the need to ramble on about why Schindler's List is better.
it just is.

vote for Schindler's List.

The Wrestler is a view into the life of a washed up man, trying to regain the high of his career and feel whole again. His sport ruined his body, his life and his connection to his family, but it's all he has left. It's a personal journey that Mickey Rourke preforms amazingly. Anyone going in to this knows it's going to have tropes and that bad taste in your mouth you get when you see someone past their prime try to reclaim their former glory. This film does it better than any other.

In my eyes it's a better experience than Schindler's List, by far.

Schindler's list is good movie, with good cast and directed by one of the best directors in history of Hollywood, but unfortunately one thing is blocking its way to list like that in my opinion. It's fact that this movie plays with historical truth. I know that character of O. Schindler was based on opinions of people saved by him, but turning him into saint was a bit too much in my opinion. The same goes with Germans, they didn't start the war. It was bad organization made by Hitler and his people, who tried to take over the world where good Germans were helping the Jews and trying to sort everything out. I know that Schindler's list isn't documentary movie, but movie telling about important things and signed with name of Spielberg should be a bit closer to the truth.

I don't know how, but I skipped The Wrestler. Maybe, because I'm not big fan of Aronofsky or Rourke, maybe because I was never into sports. I've watched it recently and I must say that this may be one of the best (if not the best) Aronofsky's movies. It tells a simple yet emotional story about washed up Wrestler, who is still living in the past. He lost everything because of the sports, but he can't stop fighting.
I've never follow Rourke's career, but he was great in The Wrestler, especially with his emotionless face filled with botox. Rest of the cast (e.g Tomei) was also doing good job. Soundtrack filled with great rock songs (some of them were included in GTA as well) was fullfilling this great picture.

Because I prefer entartaining movies over "mockumentary" ones my vote goes to The Wrestler. 2:2

Schindler's List for me.

Its just such an emotional experience, an amazing atmosphere and fantastic acting from Liam Neeson as Schindler. The horrific Holocaust if amazingly simulated in this movie. The choice of filming it in black and white makes it feel timeless, with the subtle uses of colour stands out nicely. Definitely a great film imo.
