Featuring rebuilt and remastered levels from Pro Skater 1 and 2. tonyhawk -
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be released for download channels in summer 2012, Activision has announced. Robomodo is handling development, and you won't need a peripheral in order to play - this a game for the regular controller.
The game will feature the best levels from Pro Skater 1 and 2, rebuilt and remastered to take advantage of today's hardware. Confirmed stages include School and Downhill.
Fans will also get a mix of old and new pros: Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Riley Hawk, and Tony Hawk.
"People can come back to it and find new challenges to do, not just the ones we set up for them. But we're going back to the old two minute challenges, collect the letters, get the combos, get the scores. I'm out of my mind excited about it," said Hawk.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater launched for PlayStation in 1999, with the sequel following a few years later.
Hell yeah! Shame it's had to return to it's roots to finally get a decent game again, but I'm looking forward to this. No doubt it will include some form of MP action?

I hope we can see a nice TH finally. Pro Skater 4 was kickass on the good old PS1, and the Underground series as well. If they can produce something like this, i'm buying it. If not, then i'll pass on another one.
I'd definitely pick this up if it's anything like the originals. I'm not even a big gamer but I'd play this until my fingers hurt, just like the old ones. The levels in THPS1 and 2 were fantastic.

Well, I would've preferred an upgraded version of THPS4 or THUG1/2, and I'm pretty sure that I won't be buying this one but it does look good, it's hella cool to see the old warehouse in HD.
I'm glad to see they got rid of pathetically trying to make it realistic, the only way a Tony Hawk's could work is arcade all the way.

The only ''meh'' is that I saw the Activision logo at the end. They totally raped Neversoft, one of the best game studios out there with Guitar Hero and the TH series and killed two awesome franchises. Now I can see they want to milk it again. Man, I wish it was Neversoft who develops this
Off-board action? Maybe it's more than just a remake.
It took them years and years but they FINALLY did the right thing and went back to the Pro Skater formula. I wonder, will it have the timed goals of the first game or the characters dotted around the level who give you missions? THPS4 was, by far, the best game in the series and I'd like to see a lot of features from that game put into this one.
But by far the most important thing is that we once again see Ollie The Magic Bum.
Tony Hawks 1 and 2 were by far the best one's released, i used to spend most of my time just replaying the Warehouse(1) and Hanger(2) over and over again. The only other game i really liked after them was Underground.
This may well be the first TH game i've picked up for a while.
