I have to disagree about Packie. He is far away from being a slimy motherf*cker. If you listen carefully to his dialogues during friendship activites, or even Kate's, you soon will find out.

Kate to Niko:

junkpile I still hate him, I've heard all that dialogue and I admit I felt kind sad when he said he was molested and given up the dream of being an artist but I really don't like that type of guy!! (or character, if you want ) I prefer Gerry McReary

Alright but what do you exactly "hate" about him? Packie is clearly compensating his problems. Anyway he is a loyal friend and protective of his family.

How long is this gonna last? Either you want to keep this topic alive or you are blind when it comes to him. All the ingame characters describes him to be selfish and a bad person one way or the other. I admit that Johnny was greedy when he stole from Ray, but dont you think its time you admit that he isnt a good guy? I am sure that you are a great person, but in real life lets hope people can reason with you in more important issues than this one, because here you clearly refuse to accept the ideea.

junkpile well I don't like his way, you know... Actually I admit it's personal: he remembers a friend of my husband: he is like Packie, small, bald, drugged addicted and all... Even his voices are similar! The only thing different is that the friend isn't Irish or that young I don't like the "Packie" style, do you know what I mean? In the first mission I already hated him He just has that douche attitude!!
Johnny-K but I don't think it's wrong to Ray only think about himself, as I explained He kind 'lives alone' in this mafia life... Well I guess it's going to last until people keeping posting on it, anyway I think it's cool to discuss the GTA story Obviously he isn't a good guy, I think the only good people in the game must be Kate I just don't think he is that bad!!

It's good to see people like cidamelo appreciate the depth of these games, appreciate the characters.

About Ray:
now how is that a proof for anything?
Still I have to say you're right, he mostly cares about his own. In TLAD if you kill Niko in Collector's Item, Johnny calls Ray and he says:"I never trusted Niko..."

But then again, Niko is not one to trust. Take a look on Niko from Ray's perspective. He is a skilled, hired gun. But if you look at his resume, Niko either kills his former employers or is involved in their death somehow.
Like already said, Ray finds Florian, he even cares about the outcome. He pays quite a lot and introduces Niko further to Phil.

From Johnny's point of view its very obvious why he doesn't trust Nico. He might suspected that he had been involved in Jason's death but mainly because he was Ray's hired gun and we all know how he felt about the guy. His has good instincts.

It's Ray who says this. Try to kill Niko in Colletor's Item in TLAD. Then Johnny will call Ray and say he has killed Niko. Ray says:"I never trusted the guy (Niko)."

He does a very desesperate face when his henchman dies

Yes...even two more examples why he isn't as bad as people make him look.
