Ok so i just purchased the mac version of the GTA trilogy and booted it up on my 2009 MacBook Pro. No issues.

Then i started up GTA:SA and it asked me for an activation key..ok..i checked my box to see if they were on there and i even checked on the 'manuals disc' and they werent on there.

I have read that the key is on the reverse cover of the GTA:SA manual.... which i do not have! I have a disc with the manuals on.

Does anybody know where i can locate the keys?

a message comes up telling me my retailer should have e-mailed me the keys, but they havent. (GAME.co.uk)

Thanks Guys. cool.gif

We can't tell you what the key is. We suggest you contact your dealer.

I have a PC and the key to PC play is the Disc itself.

Ok thanks for your helpful insight.

I have a game disc and a manual disc. Does either of these have the activation keys on them?

Difficult for me to say. On the PC merely having the game disc in the drive is enough to play the game. How MAC does it I don't know. I believe we only have 2 or 3 players with MAC at least as far as having problems with it.

First off, there is NO activation keys for III, VC, and SA-I have the Original AND Trilogy Pack versions, and neither game asked for nor had any activation keys...Have you checked the Pinned Buglist topic? This should be the first thing done...Usually, running the game in 98 compatibility mode fixes most problems...also, try deleting the .set file from the User Files Folder in Documents..

If that fails, try a un-install and re-install...

IV AND EFLC are the ONLY games which require activations(GTA wise anyway)...

Well they do require keys. I have the uk version. I cant even install the games because they require an activation key. I tried installing all three and they all require the key. I only got the game disc and a manual disc and neither have the keys on them.

Total waste of money!!

Yea I read a lot of people saying its on the back of the manual. I did not get any manuals with my copy I got a disc with all the manuals on it and I have checked them and they also do not have the keys on either. I think it may be because it's the UK Version.

I'll get in touch with GAME.

Thanks for your help guys.

I was looking forward to playing San Andreas!!! cryani.gif

"all three games requires an activation code, but there is no activation code. The programs say that the store you bought the games from should email you the activation code after sale. Well I bought it from Amazon and there was no activation code. How would amazon even have the activation codes. It makes no sense. Also the first time I tried to launch the Apps on my current generation MacBook Pro, it wouldn't launch any of them, and gave me some OpenGL error, then made me quit"

^ seems like this guy has the same problem as me.

Alright, officially confused now(don't know if this is the Law Enforcement side of me or what?), but, something doesn't add up-Are you trying to say that one PC version requires an activation code and one does not-after 7 years(SA) they are now requiring an activation code, yet never did from 2005/2006, etc.? Please clarify that one somebody... confused.gif

Did You miss that this is an adaptation of the PC game for MAC?
It's been noted before by others that the MAC version requires activation Codes.
The part I don't get is why this one has a Disc for the manual.

Where was it purchased?

I bought it from GAME.co.uk . I know I've seen a video on YouTube of a guy unboxing the trilogy mac version and he had actual manuals and maps. Must just be the uk version? I don't know.

Was it a used game? Most likely someone has ripped off the license key.
