OK, phase two of operation Barton-cleanup. The last discussion topic got completely wiped of my posts, and seeing as I'm the vehicles guru, that's kinda a major problem. So here we go again. In this topic you can discuss anything and everything to do with vehicles. Vehicles you'd like to see in the mod, comments on vehicles, whatever. I'll be updating this post with pictures of the cars I've finished as well as posting them throughout the thread, so if you haven't visited this before or you've been away for a while, you can check back here and see any updates. As this is discussion on ALL aspects of vehicles, this is where I'll post the handling setups I do for the cars of Myriad. After discussing with it at great length with DieselGT, we've decided that I'll do my customary style of handling and then do a second version which is just for compatibility with Vice. This means that for the bulldozer, I'd just change the flags it requires, re-set the suspension and that'll be that. Hopefully people will clamour for my setups and will say they don't want these compatibility versions! Uses a specially altered default.ide so it uses the BLOODRB handling instead of the CHEETAH one. You can generally make that assumption with most cars, except some cars which I'll tell you about if the time comes.

No alberts in the readme. Anyway, I guess I'll just install it all and start working on the code for DieselGT's, uh, scrap yard with docs.
Which brings up another question. I was talking about a garbage truck mission earlier. I need a garbage truck. I guess the original can be used. I'll just see if I can find a spot for it inside the scrap yard. Brainstorm: How about a mission where you steal scrap ? You could trash cars and steal the remains of them. That could bring in some interesting stuff, like weapons, wanted levels ...

No alberts in the readme. | Royal Albert was my working title during the construction of the car. I changed the name to Crown Court just before I released.
If you're struggling, do a find and replace in the readme. Find "police.dff" and replace with "albert.dff", and find "police.txd" and replace with "albert.txd". Or if you can't be bothered, download the car from the same link in a few minutes time when I update it.

I've started a setup for the bulldozer. Diesel, can you change how the wheels are set up so they operate like the Rhino ones? It looks weird having just one pair of wheels steering on the bulldozer. Either 4 wheels would steer or none would imho.

Gah. In that case, I shall probably set it as rear wheel drive only so the fronts don't light up in that annoying way at low speeds when changing the steering direction. Oh, would you consider switching it round to rear wheel steer instead of front, perhaps? I could balance it out better than Illspirit's forklift truck now I have a better understanding of the mass and traction bias.  Speaking of the forklift, perhaps we should see about using it here in Myriad as a car in the "ignore" default.ide class so it's only used in missions, maybe have a couple parked in warehouse type areas?
Any ideas how heavy it would be? I'd stuck between 15tonnes for it's size and 8 tonnes because of the wheels.
