Because it was posted in the topic, on the subject at hand, and it's part of the discussion. I know these are foreign concepts to you, but please do try to keep up.

I agree that his "hard ass" character is obnoxious, but must admit that it got him the exposure he was seeking. I personally shut him off pretty quickly. I don't necessarily agree with him, either - silence out of sensitivity for the victims? Pshaw. I feel terrible for these families but if awareness of the situation leads to prevention in the future, then it's worthwhile talking about it.

Regardless, we all need to talk about it, because unlike repressed sociopaths, healthy people talk about their issues. And this whole thing requires mental digestion.

I don't think the obnoxious way he conducts himself is the problem with the video, it's that the kid is a total moron. Basically some twat foreigner who parrots stupid irrelevant points about America he learned on Reddit and acts like he knows something. Why is prattling on about pizza being classified as a vegetable at all related to how much people should care about mass killings of Americans. Then he uses the logical fallacy that people dying in Iraq in greater numbers invalidates what a big news story a huge movie theater massacre in America is. The problem with Iraq is that it is a foreign non-western unstable state that is prone to sectarian violence in the form of massacres and bombings, and thus a series of suicide attacks are not quite as big a headline as this story. Maybe if Colorado had suicide bombings on a regular basis this wouldn't be big news, until then this would of always been a big story.

Every time something big happens some idiot on the sidelines is moaning that this story is getting too much coverage and that people are dying in greater quantity somewhere else. That moaning idiot is always wrong, it's just that raising awareness to other tragedies is important and so people assume that his point of "X story is bigger deal than Y" is actually poignant. The Second Congo War from 1998-2003 was one of the deadliest wars ever with millions killed (way worse than Iraq). That war received very little mainstream media coverage and I'm willing to bet this meathead has never heard of it either, and yet I wasn't bitching that 9/11 is not even a big deal compared to all these millions dying in Central Africa, because I'm not completely f*cking retarded.

Everything about this kid rubs me the wrong way.

If he had sympathy for Iraq, why cant he have sympathy for the Colorado victims.

The fact that so many people liked his video shows that people aren't capable of critical thinking unlike you. It's like he made this video on a whim and didnt put much thought into it.

You know... You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan".
