I think this is the most appropriate section.

I have a recording which has a slight "recorded in a basement" effect to it. How do I make it crispier/clearer in Audacity or any other free tool?

It sounds OK at the moment, but it'd be nice to make it perfect wink.gif

Never used that software, but check if it has an audio effect "Hum remover." This audio effect can correct the background sound.

Ah, thanks! I am sure that there is a way to reduce or remove it, but wasn't sure how it would be called! I'll try looking for "Hum remover" option tomorrow.

ADDED

Equaliser/reduce bass seems to have done the trick! Now to go through 3 hours of recording and apply different levels of bass reduction turn.gif
