The controls are not the same.

Check your settings in the pause menu. The Dodo nose up and down buttons should be 9 and 6. I prefer to modify them to Z and X because I find it easier.

on the runway push the nose down unitl u see sparks at the back of the airplane, then let go. The plane will start goin up, now level it out so u can barely see the nose of the plane. That should keep the plane up, if u go into a dive let it go, it should come back up and then level out.
