Hi, today i encountered a problem with my gta iv game which made it completely unplayable. It happened after i tried to use non xbox 360 controller with game using x360ce (controller emulator). First i want to say that i didn't change any settings, and i had gta iv running with exactly same controller about 6 months ago without any problems, but since then i did reinstall gta iv so i didn't have old settings which used to work with controller. I run the game on latest patch, and when i run it controls are all messed up, in menu only mouse works ( and with controller only analog sticks) and buttons don't work. If i start game with mouse click it's unplayable, with keyboard i can only walk but controls are somehow wrong and inverted. If i use controller character starts throwing bombs by himself. In settings, i can only use mouse to change them, and any settings that have a bar (like volume, or resolution) start lowering by them self the same way they would if i hold "left" button all the time, and because i can use only mouse, if i click on some controls which have to be confirmed, only way to quit game is alt+f4. If i start a new game(beginning is in car) i can't move at all. As i said i already had game running months before with same controller, so i don't see how would that cause problems, and the most strange thing is that i re-installed the game 3 times, and used revo uninstaller pro to make sure there aren't any items left after uninstalling, when i do clean new install, this problem is still there, and it doesn't matter that i didn't try to connect controller at all after re-installing, controls are still messed up and game is unplayable, so i guess the problem isn't in game files. Every other game is working fine without problems, with both with and without controller with x360ce.

i really have no idea what can i do to fix this, and i find it very strange that clean re-installing didn't work so could anyone help me please?

Did you previously use the same version? I think they made some changes regarding the controls on the latest patch.

no, you got it wrong, my gta 4 game is unplayable because controls with both keyboard, or controller are not responding. only thing that works is mouse, and when i start game niko starts doing things by himself, and controls don't work how they should. Problem appeared after trying to connect controller, but removing controller and re installing game didn't fix the problem.

I didn't use same version with controller last time i had it, but i did play gta iv on same version with keyboard without problems, i am not sure if it happened because of connecting controller, but i can only tell that it happened after. Problem did persist after re installing game and trying to play with keyboard and mouse, which worked well on same version before, but now it's unplayable.

Disconnect the gamepad and try using k&m only.

are you sure your keyboard hasn't a key blocked . try updating the keyboard driver if it's a multimedia keyboard . remove savegames . try another usb port if it's an usb keyboard
