I really just know the basics about computers. I can tell where a problem is, but beyond that I'm clueless. Now, to run GTA IV, I need a new graphics card. Currently I have this: Intel® GMA X3100

It's poop.

But of course, I can't just go off and buy any old graphics card; I need one that will fit in my computer. And that's where I'm lost. I don't want to dismantle my laptop just to see what it looks like in there, so I'm counting on you all to help me out. What's a good enough card to run the game that's physically similar to my current one so I know it will fit without any complicated work. I just want to pop the old one out and stick the new one in without any other extra steps. Thanks in advance!

maybe run speccy from piriform.com to find out your motherboard. but really, x3100 is an onboard graphics solution from older intel era. i don't think even 4500mhd can run GTA IV, or else I would have installed it.

why do you think you can add a video card? is your LAPTOP's motherboard mxm-capable?

What? I mean, it has a video card now. Surely it's possible to replace that one with a better one?

The "card" you have now is actually integrated, not a discrete device.

Laptop cards cannot be upgraded, as they are soldered into the motherboard(according to a pc repair shop in the Gulfcoast area)...

So, you will have to get a new PC to properly run the game...
