I understand I have written a lot below, but if anyone is willing to help, you'd make my day, because this is truly driving me crazy.

Just to set the record, I have never known such a confusing and truly frustrating system than the one Microsoft has created, simple tasks are made impossible by their ridiculous regulations. Now, I will explain the problems below in the order they occurred, hopefully someone can shed some light on this subject, it would be EXTREMELY appreciated!

Oh and also, if you're wondering why I am here and not the Xbox support forums, keep reading, that will be explained too...

It all started when I decided to purchase the Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC, it requested credit card details and all the rest of it, that isn't a problem. I enter it all 100% correctly and instead I receive a error code, so I perform a quick search on the internet and take the advice from others with a similar problem (they suggest clearing the cache and removing any old credit card details). I do so, still doesn't work. So now I try to remove all previous credit cards linked to my account, the last one can't be removed because my Xbox LIVE gold membership was purchased with it even though that card has now expired and isn't worth the plastic it's printed on. My account is completely refusing to delete this payment option.

I go online, and try to add Microsoft points from there, instead it links me to a Windows Live ID tab where it requests I sign into my email and copy a code they have sent me via email for security purposes, sounds simple right? wrong. First of all, the code is being sent to a email I DO NOT use anymore despite the fact I have changed my email address for my account. I done it anyway and signed into this ancient account, and when I entered their code, it sends me back to the Xbox website and says 'you're already signed in' with the old email below, and there are two options below. First of all, I can remain signed in with this account and if I do so, it signs me into a old Xbox account I made years ago. Second option is too sign out and sign into a different account, if I do this then the whole process I explained in this paragraph starts again. WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON HEREEE! excuse the language, but it's driving me nuts.

I'm prepared to spend my money on this day light robbery DLC just because I love the game so much and instead I get all of these problems, it just doesn't make sense. Keep in mind I was buying DLC for Mass Effect 2 about three months ago without any problems at all.

Oh yeah and also I sign into Xbox.co.uk and clicked on the forums to begin looking for help but everytime I enter the forums my accounts just signs out!! and if I try sign back in from there, it just won't do it. If I can't figure this problem out then a swap to Sony's PS3 seems to be the best option for me.

HUGE THANKS TO ANYONE WHO ATLEAST TRIES TO HELP ME OUT!

I have also experienced the pain in trying to remove credit cards from my account. I have cards still on there which expired in 2007 but god knows how I remove it. You could always buy the MS point cards but I would recommend contacting a support line for your problems.

Unfortunately I have had similar problems to these before. Overall, anyone who tries to use Xbox.com will have these problems, because Xbox.com is just a ridiculously buggy site. With every update they just clutter the layout and make it even more buggy and slow.

I am not sure what the cause of this specific problem is though. I would tell you to keep trying to sign into the email account for your current Xbox account. If it keeps giving you the security message, then I would try clearing your browser's cache. Sometimes old passwords or emails can get stuck in a field when you are trying to sign in. Maybe take some pictures of what the login screens look like.

There is a way to disable auto-renewal on the website, but I don't know how to remove your last credit card from there. I have this same issue, and it is very annoying. That being said, I've left the card up there so I can buy DLC and games every now and then. It's not a problem now that I turned auto-renewal off.

Oh and one more thing, Microsoft really just has an ass-backwards way of linking their sites together. They try to make it where you have a single Windows Live login, but that doesn't link together existing accounts you might have, and every time you try to go one of their sites it creates another account for you to log in to! For example, when signed into my Xbox account and trying to access my Hotmail, it automatically creates a Hotmail account for me that is linked to my Xbox account, even though I already have two separate Hotmail accounts. This is the root of your problems, and I am sorry you are experiencing them.
