With the sucsess of MGS HD collection and the HD remake of Halo Combat evolved, does anyone on here think Rockstar should do a GTA HD collection of the origional 3 3D world games and possibly also port them over onto the Rage engine.
I would buy this straight away and I think Rockstar could get shedloads of money from it as these HD collections are basicly like money for old rope as youve got your basics allready done, its just basicly a graphical and physics update on the origional games.
I dont know what Rockstar Leeds are up to at the moment but they allready have an insight into the old games through the 2 GTA Stories games they helped make so im sure if they havn't got much on their plate atm they could get this done.
What does everyone think? Would you buy the same games but with a graphics and physics update?

id say why not? the Splinter Cell series has an HD update out, Metal Gear Solid Series as well... there are alot of HD remakes coming out, and im excited to see how many more will be made

I would definitely buy it for a reasonable price. I am not going to buy an HD version of something I already have if it is going to cost me an arm and a leg.

It would most likeley be £30 (around $45) and would have III VC & SA in as most HD collections ive seen have had 3 games in so that would be £10 a game (around $15).

As long as they added full trophy support, and slightly improved physics i would love it, it would be great commercially if it was released round GTA V aswell

Yea agreed. But it has to have support for trophies or achivements anyways. Remember sony made a rule for all PS3 games MUST have trophies as of jan 1 2009.

I think that having all 5 on one release would make it feel like one of them arcade classics games that were released by about 7 different publishers on the PS1 whereas having the trilogy on one release would make it have a better feel to it and then they could have the prequals as DLC and/or another disk release and then have a complete edition at a later date. Admitedly my favourite III era GTA was VCS but still I think it would have a better feel if done in that way.

To be honest though, im thinking we will not get an HD collection, due to ESRB rating GTA 3 and GTA VC only for PS3, im thinking they will be released in original form on PSN as PS2 classics... Bummer.

I saw that you only talked about the 3D games here but what I would really like to see is the original top down games on PSN or XBLA in HD. I haven't even had the chance to play those games through to the end yet.

I highly doubt if I would find a reason to buy them. I already have two GTA III and two VC (for PC and PS2) and there is no way that I would like to pay again for SA. I would like to see VCS and LCS published for something else, because only way to play them is using old PS2, but there is high possibility it will never happen.

GTA, GTA 2, GTA III, GTA IV and GTA V are the MAIN games, the others are just spin-offs.
