Amazing photos. It might sound weird but does anyone else feel their stomach clench even looking at the twin towers?

I used to react like that whenever I saw them. But then I started to remember them for what they were, not for what they became.

@Cosmic Gypsy: Only two buildings have come down since that photo was taken. The rest are planned to be demolished by 2017.

I'm loathe to admit it, but I've always had a begrudging respect for these towering monoliths. You could always find your way around Glasgow with these things on the horizon. All in the name of progress, though.

Shame they're being torn down in my view, I've always liked them flats for some reason. No doubt they were run down to f*ck though.

^^^ You ever heard of Hutchesontown C? These were even worse than Red Road, but demolished sooner in 1993 killing someone in the process.

Anyway, I think these images are worthy of being here.

Although the day of 9/11 was horrifying, sad, and terrible I had been looking through some pic that I found interesting from this day. Kind of creepy. Take a look

I hate the colour link but that's actually quite beautiful

And that viaduct - looking very grand
It's simple to us now as we've lived with them for centuries but imagine when they were first built and designed... Was it the Romans? Or is that aquaducts?

^^^ It was built in Victorian times between July 1897 and October 1898 by Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Baronet.

That CNN pic is definitely not photoshopped. I saw a video of it, and spotted it right after the plane hit.

I had guessed that, seeing as how trains didnt exist pre victorian (i think it's a train track? lol)
What i meant was when the first bridges were built in the world - the design is the same as aquaducts. Imagine what people thought!

Liking that pic of capetown - especially the second with the stadium and the lightning one.
