I have got the idea from ZoomZoom, who also made the Sunshine Autos list, and I got the permission from Spuds725 for allowing me to make this list.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Weapons Guide

This is a complete guide about the weapons you will meet in Vice City.It will be detailed and full with all the info you will need.

Before I start with this, there are some things you have to know:
1. All weapons can be found at fixed spawn points, which will grant you free ammo.
2.Some of the weapons can be accessible by collecting hidden packages, which can be found all over Vice City.
3.Most of the weapons can be bought in a gun shop called the "Ammu-nation", which can be found in more GTA titles.
4.There is one weapon in the game, called the TEC-9, which can only be found at fixed spawn points, or stealing them from other NPC's in the game.
5.All weapons are part of a group, meaning that you cannot carry two of the same weapons.

RULES
1.For now, please,do not post in this topic until it has been fully completed.I appreciate the effort.
2.If you want to give me tips, suggestions, help me or alert me about errors, please PM me.I will respond as fast as I can.

WEAPONS LIST

I.Melee Weapons:
These weapons are mostly useless againts guns. They are your last alternative if no gun is available.

1.Fist
user posted image
This, is simply put, the worst weapon in the game. It's simply weak, and has no range whatsoever. The player will always have one of there.
STATS:
Damage:1/5
Range:1/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
The only good thing with this weapon is that you have it anytime.Through, this "weapon" has a little upgrade...

2.Brass Knuckles
user posted image
Even through it's an upgrade, it's still next to nothing. Once the player collects one of these,it cannot be changed, since there's not fist pick-up.
STATS:
Damage:1.5/5
Range:1/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
Why get this when you can get an actual weapon?

3.Screwdriver
user posted image
Still not the best.Very weak, but easy to use.
STATS:
Damage:1.5/5
Range:1/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
Why not get something better?

4.Hammer
user posted image
It has a bad damage, but good rate of fire. You will get this weapon for a mission, named "Jury Fury".
STATS:
Damage:1.5/5
Range:1/5
RoF:2/5
Weight:5/5
With the Rate of Fire, you can have an easy time killing NPC's individually.

5.Knife
user posted image
This is a simple man's weapon.Easy to use,but still compact.
STATS:
Damage:1.5/5
Range:1/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
There are better weapons, but this one is ok.

6.Meat Clever
user posted image
Now this is a melee weapon. You can cut of heads with this wink.gif.
STATS:
Damage:2/5
Range:1/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5

7.Golf Club
user posted image
This is probably the easiest melee weapon to get.It can be found at the hands of golfers,or at the "Leaf Links" golf club.
STATS:
Damage:2/5
Range:2/5
RoF:2/5
Weight:5/5

8.Nightstick
user posted image
Yes,the infamous melee weapon of the cops made it into Vice City.It can be found at most cops, along with a pistol.
STATS:
Damage:1/5
Range:1/5
RoF:2/5
Weight:5/5

9.Baseball Bat
user posted image
The legendary weapon which can be seen in movies, games, even cartoons.
STATS:
Damage:2/5
Range:2/5
RoF:2/5
Weight:5/5
A better weapon in all categories. It's better than 80% of melee weapons. But there are better.

10.Machete
user posted image
A sword would have been more to my taste, but this one is good too.Oh wait, there is a sword...
STATS:
Damage:1/5
Range:2/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:4/5

11.Katana
user posted image
Now this IS a melee weapon.
STATS:
Damage:3/5
Range:2/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
This is my personal melee favorite.Compact, easy to use. Also, attacking someone in the back will automatically behead someone.Plus this weapon has a f*cking trail, which is awesome!!

12.Chainsaw
user posted image
A damn beast. It can easily kill, but it suffers from heaviness, which makes it kind of useless.
STATS:
Damage:5/5
Range:2/5
RoF:5/5
Weight:2/5
The sad part is,that you can only jump and run with this. But it spills a lot of blood on the screen.

PART 2

II.Throw-able weapons
These weapons are dangerous, even to the player, but if used with skill,it can create havoc.

1.Tear Gas
user posted image
This weapon is only available on the PS 2 version of the game.It has been cut from the PC version because it took away framerate, even on a good PC.
The effect of this weapon can be seen in the mission "The Job".It creates a smoke, which is good for escapes or making a diversion.

2.Molotov Cocktail
user posted image
This famous weapon ignites a fire when thrown. The fire usually kills fast, but if not used carefully, the player can get caught in the fire too.

3.Grenades
user posted image
This weapon is extremely dangerous if it explodes close to the player.
Note that there 2 versions of this, one of them being a remote controlled one, meaning that it explodes on your command.

III.Pistols
The pistols are the worst firearms of the game.Slow, but effective if used correctly.

1.Colt .45
user posted image
A simple pistol, which is cheap, easy to get,but somewhat hard to master.
STATS:
Mag:17 rounds
Damage:1/5
Range:2/5
RoF:2/5
Weight:5/5
It's light, meaning that you can run, sprint, crouch with it,but the damage and rate of fire makes it difficult to land a shot.

2.Python .357
user posted image
A slow,but incredibly strong weapon.
STATS:
Mag:6 rounds
Damage:5/5
Range:2.5/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:5/5
The weapon is pretty good, considering that 1 shot,no matter where hit, will cause death.Timing is necessary with this gun.

IV.Shotguns
The shotguns are strong, but slow weapons.Best used at close range.

1.Shotgun
user posted image
It's slow, but has a spread of 3 bullets. Also cheap, and useful at the early stage of the game.
STATS:
Damage:1-3/5
Range:2/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:3/5
The damage depends on how many bullets hit the target. It's also good at destroying cars.

2.Stubby Shotgun
user posted image
Same as the shotgun, but has a spread of 5 bullets.
STATS:
Damage:1-4/5
Range:2/5
RoF:1/5
Weight:3/5
It's good,but there's something a lot better...

3.SPAS-12
user posted image
Simply put,the best shotgun in the game.
STATS:
Mag:7 rounds
Damage:1-3
Range:2/5
RoF:4/5
Weight:3/5
Yes,it's automatic, and it has a magazine, which will empty quick because it's rate of fire.I recommend having one of these all the time.Blowing up cars with this is child's play.

Thanks for the advice and the comments, but if it's possible, please read the rules and PM me about these next time. Now the guide won't look so good.

PART 3

IV.Sub-Machine guns
These guns are fast and light, but weak.

1.Tec-9
user posted image
A light, but weak gun. It's unique, since it CANNOT be bought at the ammu-nation.
STATS:
Mag:50 rounds
Damage:1/5
RoF:2/5
Range:1/5
Weight:5/5
Simply put,it's an upgraded pistol. But this gun too has an upgrade.

2.Mac-10
user posted image
A faster version of the Tec-9.The only downside is it's magazine.
STATS:
Mag:30 rounds
Damage:1/5
RoF:3/5
Range:1/5
Weight:5/5
It's good,but there's better.

3.Uzi
user posted image
It's cheap,light and incredibly fast.Only problem:you can't move while firing this weapon.
STATS:
Mag:30 rounds
Damage:2/5
RoF:3/5
Range:2/5
Weight:5/5
Be sure to have some ammo with you, since the magazine will empty very fast.

4.MP-5
user posted image
Now this is a Sub-machine gun. It's almost as good as an assault rifle.
STATS:
Mag:30 rounds
Damage:3/5
RoF:2.5/5
Range:3/5
Weight:5/5
It's a handy weapon,be sure to have one all the time.

V.Assault Rifles
These guns are very handy,no matter what the situation is.Also, you can aim with these in 1-st person perspective.

1.Kruger
user posted image
This gun is good, but somewhat slow. You first get it in the mission "Guardian Angel".
STATS:
Mag:30 rounds
Damage:3/5
RoF:1.5/5
Range:3.5/5
Weight:4/5
This gun's fire rate is slow,which is good,but also bad.It's a very good gun,but there's a better one.

2.M4
user posted image
The famous M4 is a perfect rifle.ALMOST.It's fast, strong, but has a little weight. It is introduced in the mission "Rub Out!",and you will use it a LOT.
STATS:
Mag:30 rounds
Damage:3/5
RoF:4/5
Range:4/5
Weight:4/5
Other than not being able to run with this,it has what a player needs.

VI.Heavy Weapons
These weapons are fatal, strong, dangerous, you name it.But these guns will make a man out of you.

1.M60
user posted image
The first machine gun to ever make it into the GTA franchise.Even through it's big as f*ck,it's easy to use it.It works like an assault rifle, but a lot stronger.
STATS:
Mag:100 rounds
Damage:5/5
RoF:2/5
Range:4.5/5
Weight:4/5
It's bullets are probably the strongest in the game, and it's range is awesome. You can use it for taking out cars, enemies, helicopters etc. It's good for anything that stands in your way. Also,it's the only heavy weapon that you can jump with.

2.Flamethrower
user posted image
The name says it.A "machine" which throws flame. It's good for fun,but has no chance againts a gun.
It works exactly as a handheld molotov cocktail.

3.RPG(Rocket Launcher)
user posted image
The known weapon that can shoot rockets.Be sure to stay far from the target before you shoot itIt can any vehicle(except the Tank) in 1 shot.
NOTE:This weapon can only be fired when you are actually aiming. If you try firing them while not aiming,a "tick" will be heard, indicating that the gun is in "safe mode".Also, you can only stand and run with this weapon.

4.Minigun
user posted image
First of all,the title is wrong.Very wrong. This "gun" is fast as lightning, strong, but weights a TON.
STATS:
Mag:500 rounds
Damage:3/5
RoF:5/5
Range:4/5
Weight:1/5
It spits the rounds out,but the bullets are still not as strong as the M 60's.Also,the only thing you can do with it is running, and standing.
This gun is so good,it makes the game boring in my opinion.

PART 4

VII.Sniper Rifles
These weapon are designed for long range gunfights.Powerful, accurate, but slow and useless at close range.Something unique about them is that they can only be fired while aiming with the scope, otherwise you will hear a "tick",just like with the RPG.

1.Sniper Rifle
user posted image
A simple bolt action rifle with a scope.Slow, but powerful.
STATS:
Damage:4/5
RoF:1/5
Range:5/5
Weight:4/5

2.PSG-1
user posted image
A semi-automatic sniper.Also,it has a laser,which allows for better aiming.Strangely,it also has a silencer,but it doesn't have any effect.
STATS:
Mag:7 rounds
Damage:5/5
RoF:2/5
Range:5/5
Weight:4/5

VIII.Others
Well, only 2 weapons are in this category, and 1 of them is useless.

1.Camera
user posted image
This camera is only used in the mission "Martha's Mug Shot",where you have to take a photo.Nothing else.

2.Detonator
user posted image
I'll keep it simple. It's used for blowing up grenades. If you wanna know about grenades, scroll up for info.

============================================================
FAQ:

1.Why did you make this guide?
I always thought the weaponsin the GTA series had a big role in the game itself.I also like how R* made the "weapon system" for these games, how they are used etc.

2.Where did you get the icons from?
The icons are all taken from the site gta.wikia.com . Credit goes to them.

3.Will you make more guides?
Sure.I'll ask permission from one of the mods in the San Andreas forum, and i'll make a GTA 3 one.

Looks pretty good-- I'm deleting the extra posts between your "guide" posts.... Sorry I will not be pinning this.... at one time we had a "ton" of pinable guides-- we cleaned it up by putting them all in the pinned Guides and Wakthrus thread---

I can either move these posts all to that guide-- or put a link to this thread in the table of contents in the first post in that thread...

The choice is totally up to you.

Spuds...
