These 3 characters occur 3 times or more in the trailer doing things NPCs wouldn't usually do. My thoughts are that for V they have taken a new step (as they said "a bold new direction") of which has taken a storyline like GTA IV where 3 characters have an intertwining storyline. I believe they have simply followed the formula of GTA4+EFLC but put it on one game. They also said it is their " largest and most ambitious game” offering a "bold new direction” in open-world freedom and storytelling.

This justifies my point perfectly so I believe we will have 3 playable characters of whom will have storylines that cross over at some point like in GTA IV and its DLC.
What do you guys think?

There will be more than one playable character as suggested by rumours earlier this year.

As you say this is a rumor. 2nd will be the main pratoganist of GTA V. Others will be only storyline characters

While your point is valid, they said a "bold new direction” in open-world freedom and storytelling.
They cannot achieve this by presenting us with the traditional formula just like in GTA:IV.

the first picture is just pictures of random black guys put together, lol can't you see the difference between them?

Also, I don't know if anybody noticed, but when you boot up GTA IV on steam, in your library it automatically shows a little news feed which is from rockstar and steam, now that little news feed has never had ANY new info about the game since november, until now there's an official post that's titled "GTA V MULTIPLE PROTAGONIST THEORY: THE EVIDENCE" , since that's the only rumor that's ever popped up on their official game launcher there, I assume it's probably true

The game itself will never have more than one playable character...A bold new direction doesn't mean that they want to destroy the original GTA feeling...

Plus "Blackie" isn't the same guy of the 2405 house or colourful sweater. Speedo and Cross the street they look maybe the same. But it could be that they used couple models of NPC to fill the streets and that its a LookaLike

I'm not sure about having multiple characters that are playable...it wouldn't feel like GTA I don't think.

I guess it all depends on how they deal with it. I don't think I'd like having 3 different characters with different weapons, vehicles and houses etc.

Guess we'll just need to wait and see. I'm willing to give it a try if it's true.
