(EW.com) -- Peter and Bobby Farrelly have been quietly developing a sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" for awhile now.
Back in October, we heard that Sean Anders and John Morris -- the comedy screenwriting duo behind "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins" -- were hard at work on a script. That was the last bit of news about the project...at least until this weekend, when Peter Farrelly dropped a Twitter-imploding bombshell in the middle of a "Three Stooges" press junket.
"We're getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September," the director told ComingSoon.net. "We've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."
Farrelly may have jumped the gun a little bit -- a source close to the production tells EW that the film is "moving along, but it's not greenlit yet." It's hard to imagine a green light is too far away, though -- following last week's announcement about the impending arrival of "Anchorman 2," this feels like the moment for long-awaited comedy sequels. (Also: Is this a big day for Jeff Daniels, or what?)

I like it a lot! One of the favorite movies of all time for myself, now a sequel!
Dumb and Dumber was the funniest movie when it came out, sh*t, I guess it was like 1996. Then I watched Airplane! stoned and it blew my mind. Funniest movie. Leslie Nielsen the greatest. Anyway, I don't know about a new one though. Jim Carrey hasn't made a comedy in over a decade. I know, some people will say that is not true. I stand by what I said.
That prequel was absolute murder but the original was a classic.
But both Daniels (57) and Carrey (50) are pretty much past their prime. They're going to have to change the title to Grumpy Old Dumber and Dumber or Dumb and Dumber Old Men.

The first was great, The prequel was absolute sh*t however. Now sure how this one is gonna work out
I would say so, but this part definitely saved the film for me and I was literally laughing my ass off for hours on end even after the film had finished when I saw this scene:
In regards to a proper sequel to Dumb and Dumber, I'd have to see it to believe it. Jim, I prefer as a Comedic actor hasn't even done a comedy movie in years, so it would definitely be interesting to see how he fits back into the role of Lloyd.

Maybe too, maybe true
What say you??
Getting back to sense, the movie was never a fav of mine, I do like the old Jeff Daniels, and it's interesting that he's been on board for some time! haha
I thought I posted on this before, wasn't LIAR LIAR mentioned? Ace Ventura? I did enjoy those, perhaps it was that LaserDisc collecting back in the day, a certain Led By just hates hearing about the movie delivery medium of the day, but that's retarded to deny how big home cinema was, and LD was how you collected it back then, pre-DVD
What I was saying is back then I collected comedies on big shiny 12 inch! Still have them

Great news, was smart enough to avoid the "other" dumb and dumber movie, but I watched the original to no end back in the day... recently picked up the BluRay for under 10 bucks... Quite the score... Great soundtrack too
