gonna do for him next?
Dimitri You got to remember, you killed Vlad. That angered Mikhail no matter
what he said. It was very difficult for me to persuade him that a man
like you could be more useful to us alive than dead.

In "The Master and the Molotov" Mikhail says that he showed kindness to Niko and his cousin when Dimitri wanted him dead.

Then in the last mission if you choose Deal Dimitri implies once again that he convinced Mikhail to spare Niko and Roman's life by saying "I should have let Faustin kill you!"

So who's lying, Dimitri or Mikhail?

As bizarre as it sounds I strongly believe that Faustin was telling the truth as in "Crime And Punishment" Faustin said that Niko will now work for him as payback for what he did to Vlad, instead of just putting a bullet in his head there and then. Well Faustin even came out and said that he never liked Vlad to begin with and that he only kept him around because he [Faustin] "bangs his [Vlad] sister", as mentioned in the same mission.

Also in "The Master And The Molotov" Faustin mentions that America has made Dimitri greedy, and that he will soon enough turn on Niko as he did with him (which later turned out to be exactly true in "Russian Revolution").

Alex you may be right but I find it odd that in "A Revenger's Tragedy" Dimitri sticks with his story about Mikhail wanting him dead. You would think that he would be honest about it by then and admit that it was his idea to kill Niko and Roman. Mikhail was a certified nutcase around the time he met Niko too so it's not too hard to believe that he wanted them dead. Plus it kind of suits Dimitri's personality - he puts business first and uses people until they're no longer of any use to him.

Dimitri is a snake, and snakes say things when they are in trouble to try to wriggle themselves out of such situations.

Faustin never really lies. He always has a brutal, impulsive attitude to him so the truth is always in the open from him.

faustin was a good character. I liked him, sad i had to kill him, but that's how it goes. Dmitri was weasel - saying he was helping you out just to soften you up.

Faustin never tried to f*ck you over, Dimitri couldnt stop.

I wish R* put in a story branch there tbh, allowing you to not kill mikhail.

I liked Faustin the first time I saw him in GTA IV back in 2008 . He was a crazy but at least he don't shot Niko, Roman was crying like a pu**y , he deserve'd that shot in the stomach lol...

Faustin was obviously telling the truth. He was a psychopath, but he wasn't a snake like Dmitri.

I honestly didn't want to kill Faustin. Yes he was a nutcase and had a hard time controlling himself but he was alot more honest than Dimitri, who was a snake the whole time.

I regret killing Mikhail but at the same time it was kind of for the best because most of us probably wouldn't appreciate him as much as we do now had he lived. Also, 'Russian Revolution'/the Bulgarin thing was inevitable, so even if TMatM didn't happen he probably would've turned against Niko along with Dimitri so we would probably have to kill him eventually anyway.


And Illousion: Faustin shot Roman because he wouldn't stop "crying"/screaming, he wouldn't shut up so he deserved it. I think that's what fastetshot means.

it's a tough one. dimitri is a born liar, but let's face it, you got a gun to your face you will lie to get out of it. If I had to choose it would be dimitri lying, or probably both, nobody wanted to kill niko but they are saying the other did.

Either seem entirely plausable. Faustin is the better character though in that he's just more interesting with his out of control coke & booze fueled behavior. (although Jimmy P was hands down to funniest character with his hilarious/psychotic ranting and raving) What I wish they put in was a story option not to kill Aiden after you spring him out of police transport, I felt bad having to kill the poor bastard. Which is why I always end up killing Derrick later on, the smacked out jerk.

Judging from the mission where you kill Faustin, didn't he pretty much turned against Niko, anyway (or he would have, if not)? Besides, how did he know that Niko was coming to kill him?

I agree so much. Derrick was a drug addict and would turn on you just as easily as Francis would, plus Derrick has a history of ratting his friends out so it made the decision even easier for me. I don't even feel bad after killing him.

Faustin turned on Niko because he somehow found out about Dimitri and Niko plotting to kill him so it's understandable. However, I DO believe that Faustin would have turned against Niko anyway, especially if Dimitri was still around.

Too bad you had to kill him, he was overdescribed, sure may be aggressive,
but he was good, Dimitri lied since day 1.
Faustin is the one telling the truth.
