The companies do exactly what you did and record real gun sounds.
All you've really done is re record lower quality sound effects from probably incorrect weapons..

Well if that is what you think then i guess that youtube video is just not doing any good at all. That video makes the quality lower and it sounds more volumetric in game. And no.. many games to not record the real sounds.. many times they add effects to it to make it more "hollywoodish" Some people like that. | First of all, of course it's going to sound lower quality on YouTube, it's a compressed video on the internet. Second of all, what the Hell does, "Hollywoodish" mean? What else can they be doing, poppin' caps in the studio?

Second of all, what the Hell does, "Hollywoodish" mean? What else can they be doing, poppin' caps in the studio? | Hollywoodish.. its when they add effects to gunsoudns to give them more bass and a more meat pounding sound.. which isnt what they have in real life. I actually own many of the weapons in GTA IV and having fire them all.. I personally dont believe the gunsounds in GTA IV are as true to them. Therefore, I created this mod. ANd Sure.. some games such as Medal of honor recorded their weapons. however not all games do. Thats why the weapon sounds for COD MOH and brothers in arms.. all sound different.. even though they feautre the same weapons...because those weapons are not raw recordings. Anyhow its all about personal preference.

This is quite nice, but just from the video i can tell it's not 100% correct, since the shooting sounds are longer than you actual shoot the gun. And as well those are not the best recordings, there are some background click, clack sound from anything else than the weapons. I prefer the GTA IV weapon sounds, i guess to Rockstar Games edited the recorded weapon sounds, but i'm pretty sure they used professional technique to record them, just like the sound technic guys from the NFS Developer teams do it, while they record engine sounds and exhaust blasts etc...

Really? That's very interesting. | The only games I know with real sounds are Battlefield Bad Company and Operation Flashpoint 2.
