GTA:LC Language Packs

The american.gxt file is now final. If anyone wants to do translations to other languages, you'll need a copy of it and CyQ's vicegxt editor - both can be found in this package. The american_VC-Radio.gxt is the same as the american.gxt, except for the radio station names and some differences in credits - translations should be done for both files.

Also found in the package are the most up-to-date versions of translations so far - they are not complete as there has been no updates since the final american.gxt was released. The translations part done so far are:
• Spanish - VGF
• French - Knightriders
• Russian - Main_Salvadore

DONE and currently up-to-date:
• German - MoeRonimoe / SteaVor
• Spanish - VGF

Also, we now have a complete Polish translation for LC - thanks to Wasyl-Pasyl .

I could do a Danish translation, I know there are not many who speaks Danish, but it would be fun anyways.

I just need to know what and how I shall translate.

I can do dutch if I have some free time, and if there are people who want it of course I won't do it when I'm the only one who is dutch and plays this.

Start with the Readme.html located at the main GTA:LC folder.

The main file is the american.gxt that Craig posted up, if you can not put special characters (Use CyQ's VC GXT Editor), wait till I make a GTATexter compatible file (I'm doing again from almost zero the GXT file, with all new things of Craig's file and the missing lines of same file).

OK, I did the spanish.gxt basing on Craig's file. People who are interrested should download again the file.

There is one suggestion I have to ask. How about making the subtitles for those two radio voiceovers (Example: You take Maria and Asuka to the Staunton Island, you pick up a car and then a news line says that Callahan bridge is opened)?

And that's it. I'll try to convert the other three files (Note: Spanish texts have been re-done from scratch, anyone interested on re-doing French/German/Italian texts should say it before I get with it.)

Do you see the mission's cutscenes with dutch subtitles or do you not see nothing at all?

american.gxt? Try the CyQ's Vice City GXT editor. GTATexter doesn't work for it. Or the gxtedit in the last post (Haven't tried, although)

I could make the german translation. I'm already working on the readme (which most (german) people who downloaded GTA:LC never read....)

For my experience, nothing but CyQ's editor work properly. Even if on surface it seems that Barton's or GXTTexter write what is needed, in practice they just corrupt the gxt-file. Even if CyQ's is a bit difficult to use, use only his when editing GXTs.

Thanks to Craig, I've updated spanish file. Legend and ST_ texts (This is for Main_Salvadore).
Somebody want to do French file? Cos all I'm doing is Cpoy&paste, but Craig asks in some lines for new texts, and I know very little of French.
