That's why I always create my own free modes, sooner or later people will join and by then I'm fully equipped and ready for whatever.
And my settings are full map, peds, cars, etc. But must important is 10sec respawn time and far respawn, so there won't be any mindless respawn killings. This way if someone kills you or you killed someone there's enough time to get weapons and stuff and be ready for them.
As for buzzards, if someone can't handle them just stay out of open areas, hide somewhere for a while. Either they will give up or crash.

It's fun. Punch, avoid n counter, then with a knife or bat, then shotgun glitch an area full of them, shooting them with a sniper without using the scope (having to use the middle of the screen as my crosshair), headshoot those girls who say 'Get away from me you ugly bastard', kick the sh*t out of old people, use funny L1 taunts, run over people while doing wheelies. So many ways, never gets old.

Killing cops is fun and challenging too, considering the low health in MP.

it provides for more of a challenge. also fun to bring six stars worth of madness right on top of other players

Lol imo playing with cops on and or ff on its the best thing theres in free mode going in a killing rampage with your friends and then the cops are after you its way more fun than just riding cars around the city with cops and ff off...it just gets boring fast.

Not to mention the cops can save your a**.

For example: your car gets blown up, you still in your broken car (friendly fire off), & someone is camping with a rocket waiting for you to get out. Cops show up & the camper most of the time eithers waste their rockets on the cops, leaves the scene, or gets killed by the cops cause they think rockets can save them all the time from cops.

It makes perfect sense, people can go to deathmatch instead. As I said, most who don't are pussies.

I have no problem with fighting in Free Mode. The problem I do have are the little c*nts flying around in helicopters and spawn killing. They can piss off and go to a deathmatch.

This game is four years old and playing online hasnt and won't change. People moaned about the same thing when it 1st came out. Free = do whatever the hell you want. Don't like it, that's to bad cause you can't do anything to stop it sorry. Saying that, the spawn system sucks balls. Set to far spawn you still get a** clowns pop up right behind you.

I've said this before, when FF is on, the logical assumption is that people will be hostile.
If you're tired of getting raped in FM, I suggest you try FF off matches.

Same here.

When I first jumped on GTA IV freemode it was full of players wanting to just be obnoxious. The same kind that doesn't like the score in a deathmatch indicating how much they suck. Yea it's freemode and you can do whatever you want but just because you can be a dick doesn't mean you should. I've only been able to really enjoy freemode a handful of times. Totally different experience when you can organize people around an idea in free mode as opposed to just some random asshole in a buzzard pissing everyone off.

Nowadays it's worse. When I go on it's usually the same mix anti-social players who act paranoid and aggressive, players who shoot if you get too close. Nobody uses mics anymore except the obnoxious people that sit too close to the TV and have 10 kids in the background beating the sh*t out each other. Then there's the ridiculous amount of bullying modders. You're just goin about your business and "holy sh*t I'm on fire" or "oh no some one spawned the tugboat on land again" of course just as they decided they were done playing GTA.

It's a great game spoiled by sh*tty people and sadly sh*tty people are the majority.

I couldn't agree more. It's one of the reasons I play as much as I do. I'm always on the look-out for cool people to play with. But I keep running into abusive, angry c*nts.
