GTA IV Hanging On Startup

My GTA will not start up properly

Player Hater Group: Members Joined: Mar 31, 2012	When I run GTA IV PC from my desktop it comes up with the little window with the lolipop woman as normal, but when I click play the screen aspect goes from 16:9 to 4:3 and squashes everything. Then the copyright stuff comes up and when it gets to the second screen it just hangs. It won't do anything despite clicking and pressing every button on the keyboard . Somebody please help! P.S. I am running Windows 7 X64 bit on Acer Aspire 5742 Laptop.

You'll face only hardship running GTAIV on that laptop, Intel graphics will not cut it.

If you own the retail version, you can install patch 1.0.1.0 or 1.0.4.0 instead of the latest one, that may help to get it at least running.
