Intel® Celeron 2.66 GhZ
VS
AMD Sempron between 1.5-2.0 GhZ

Which one would perform better in gaming?

Impossible to tell, since we don't know which generation of Celeron and Sempron are these.

If these are new CPUs, then Celeron will be undoubtely faster. If these are from older generations, then they might perform similarly.

I suppose it's the GhZ that makes the celeron stronger.

Not necessarily, hence the reason for asking which gen they are.

If they are in a system and being used you can use CPUZ on each to get more details.

No chance of doing that. Only that I have a slight chance of getting a Sempron I just mentioned, and I wanna know if it's actually worth to change it for the one I have.

If you have the Celeron now you can't just swap it out for the Sempron. You need a new motherboard as well.
