Great card, I just hope that Europe doesn't get ripped off like it was with the GTX680 (prices much higher in Europe, when compared to HD7970).

Considering the GTX 670 beats the AMD's flagship 7970, I think it's safe to say AMD is f*cked.

QUOTE (Tom's)
The 670 offers the same four display outputs as Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 680: two dual-link DVI connectors (one DVI-I and one DVI-D), one full-sized HDMI output, and one full-sized DisplayPort connector. All four can be active simultaneously, partly addressing AMD’s Eyefinity technology, which we’ve seen enable up to six screens on one card.

Nvidia's answer to AMD Eyefinity?

At the current price points they are. The 670 should drive 7970 and 7950 back down to where the 6970 and 6950 were. They've been getting away with some serious gouging due to Nvidia not able to meet demands which is due to TSMC struggling to get 28nm yields up.

Word that's been flying around is that Nvidia supposedly has an even larger chip, GK110, that they've yet to release. If there's any truth to that, then I don't know what they'll call it or how they would market it given the 690 is now out. But if it is true, then AMD is really f*cked. The 7990 is no where in sight either.

For me, it's all so moot this generation. My 6970 doesn't struggle at all pushing any game on my 1080p set. If only there were actual cutting edge PC games that could make these insanely powerful hardware specimens sweat. We need a new Crysis and I don't mean Crysis 3 either.

I've been hearing rumours that it's likely going to be called the GTX 685.

So basically the 670 is actually a 660 vs the 680 which is more like a 660 Ti. GK110 is the "real" 680 but since AMD blows they decided to overprice GK104 which I believe was originally intended to be 660 Ti. Here's hoping AMD does something worth a darn to keep Nvidia from price gouging, but I'm not getting my hopes up, just like AMD is allowing Intel to push their mediocre IB for a price premium.

TechPowerUp show the HD7970 beating the GTX 670 is most of the game at high resolutions.

Which further proves my point, 680 (660 Ti) beats 7970 while 670 (660) does not. Nvidia chose to overprice the cards since they have no competition.

EDIT: Thinking further into it, I am thinking perhaps that their 28nm process is not producing very great yields (from what I have read confirms this) thus the reason why even the "lowly" GK104 (660 Ti branded as 680) is always out of stock and they are coming out with a "handicapped" GK104 (660) which they are labeling as the 670. Which thus is the reason why GK110 ("real" 680 which will probably be labeled 685) will be a little while off. Lucky for Nvidia AMD isn't doing too well either, so Nvidia can overprice and understock lower-end chips as high-end parts thus gaining profit all the while allowing them more time to work on the new 28nm process to get better yields.
